Have you ever bored? Yes, Right? But have you ever heard about a Boring Company? Probably No. But there is a company named "The Boring Company". Wired Right? But The Boring Company is following a new strategy in transportation. Most of you may be thinking that the new era of transportation is flying cars. But it is still under testing. But have you ever thought about underground tunnel transportation? It is happening now. The boring company is building an underground tunnel system for public transportation in The NewYork city and they call it "The Loop".

"Loop is a high-speed underground public transportation system in which passengers are transported on autonomous electric skates traveling at 125-150 miles per hour. Electric skates will carry between 8 and 16 passengers, or a single passenger vehicle." - The Boring Company



According to The Google Maps, this 38.2 miles trip takes around 1 hour and 52 minutes at the worst case.But using The Loop it will take approximately 15 minutes.Now you can see the difference.

So, Why no flying cars? According to The Boring Company, "flying cars have issues with weather, noise, and generally increase anxiety levels of those below them."And that`s sound true.

So, What`s new? Because subways are already there!! "The electric skates are faster than conventional subway cars, and are autonomous vehicles. Most importantly, Loop is an “express” public transit system – through the use of a main artery with side tunnels for entry/exit, passengers travel directly to their final destination without stopping. Therefore, unlike trains, the skate’s average speed is very close to its maximum speed. " Says The Boring Company.

So, What are the benefits for us using The Loop instead of using Hyperloop or Maglev?

The Boring Company answered that question too,"

• Increased safety. A fully stabilized autonomous vehicle eliminates human error and the ability to “swerve off-course.”
• Increased speed. The controlled autonomous skate allows for speeds of 125 - 150 miles per hour in urban settings.
• Multiple payloads. The electric skate can transport people (mass transit), goods and/or automobiles. And if one adds a vacuum shell, it is now a Hyperloop pod which can travel at 600+ miles per hour.
• Eliminating hazardous emissions. Electric skates are zero-emission vehicles, and thus do not output hazardous gases like internal combustion cars do. Every mile the skate transports a gas-burning vehicle becomes a zero-emission mile."

What are the benefits to the Society using this tunnel system?

• Mainly it will decrease the traffic jams.
• No greenhouse gases will emit because it is all electric.
• Earthquakes will do not damage the tunnel system and it can be used for rescue operations.
• There is no practical limit to how many layers of tunnels can be built, so any level of traffic can be addressed.
• Tunnels are weatherproof.
• Tunnel construction and operation are silent and invisible to anyone on the surface.
• Tunnels don’t divide communities with lanes and barriers.

Also, They are planning to recycle the digging dirt into useful bricks to build structures.Which is more environment-friendly and cost-effective.

Also, The company said that the cost of a travel would be comparable or lower than current public transportation.And also they said that "pedestrians and cyclists will be prioritized over cars"
